18.5"x24.5" oil on canvas
Forty some years ago when I encountered this little pink house at New Port Beach, I just fell in love. It was love at first sight. Of course I had painted and turned out just I saw it and it was the end of it. Few weeks ago this idea popped in my head, what if I paint the house again. I was curious how will the painting would come out. After I finished the piece I found something interesting about painting. The house didn't change after 40yrs but you know I myself have changed. Back then I was busy describing in details and turned out ok, but this time my mind was totally somewhere else. My intuition kept telling me-it's a wrong color, the shapes and even the textures just don't feel right, lists went on changes after changes. At the end , the difference between now and 40yrs ago was very simple, this time I was busy painting sensations instead of what it look like. Each artist has their own destination and mine is for now, painting my own sensations not what I see.
